Membership Renewal - Dues etc.

John Beckwith

Greetings,

It’s that time of year.  Membership Dues are up for renewal for 2020 (can you believe that number?   And they tell me Hindsight is, well - next year??)

The good news is, we’ve been working to setup online payment capabilities and believe we have some options.  We’ve setup the ability to pay via both Zelle and PayPal.   Of course, checks will still be accepted as well.

Our first choice is to use Zelle.  To use this you have two options.   Most banks offer the ability to send money directly from their website using Zelle.   Somewhere on your bank’s website should be a link that gets you to Zelle.   From there you typically have to add MARC as a receiver the first time (see the e-mail address to use below).  After that it’s just a quick drop down to make a payment.

If your bank doesn’t have a link to Zelle you can install the Zelle app on your phone or tablet and use it directly.  You can get more information from the Zelle website - https://www.zellepay.com/.

The second option is to use PayPal.   In order to do this, you need to have a PayPal account - easy to setup.  Once you have that you can “Send” money to MARC.   When you select “Send” you will need to setup MARC the first time (again, see the e-mail address to use below).  Then you can send money, but there are two options for payment - “Paying for an item or service” or “SendIng to a Friend”.   You should select the latter (Sending to a Friend).  If you select “item or service”, MARC will incur a fee of 2.9% +$0.30 for each transaction (more if it’s international).  We incur no fee if you send “to a Friend”.

However, if you do use the “Friend” option, use the debit option from your account.  If you use a Credit Card you will incur the same fee indicated above.  So use the debit option from your account and no one gets hit with any fees.

In both cases - Zelle or PayPal - you’ll send your payment to our MARC e-mail address - marcradiohq@...

We’re new at this, so if you see any problems or have any suggestions let us know.  I’m sure there will be some growing pains, so please be patient with us.  And, again, you can still send your renewal by check to me directly at the address below, or, if you’re in the SoCal area, drop it off at the monthly meeting.

In any case - get your dues in early so we can ensure your continued membership on the Listserv and any other things you need to know about.  If you are already in our roster - no need for an application - though let us know if anything has changed.

So send us your dues - online or by check - for $12 for the year 2020 (or more if you like - we’ll credit you for whatever you send).   Please make your check out to “MARC”.   In either case, if you need a receipt, let me know and I’ll get one to you by e-mail as quickly as I can.  Some folks have already paid through 2020 (and beyond?) so if you’re not sure, send me a note and I’ll let you know where you stand.

As always - if you have any ideas for how we can make MARC better - please share.  We’re open to suggestions.  We are continually looking for ways to improve and offer more for your membership.   And remember, it’s your club - so find some way to contribute - on the list, for the website, in the newsletter or whatever.  Let us know.

Thanks and have a great 2020,

John, N6JCB

John, N6JCB

Peter,

You sent a check back in December when you joined, so, you’re already paid up through 2020.  I can return the $12 or apply it to your account and update your expiration through 2021.  (Wow, that sounds so strange....:-)

Let me know what you would like to do.
